Rainbow Pages is the world’s first LGBTTQI+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-gender, takatāpui, queer, intersex and friends) marketing platform to connect Rainbow-friendly businesses to Rainbow consumers at a regional and national level. It is also the first such directory to offer static and roaming advertising solutions.
But Rainbow Pages is so much more than a directory! We also...
Research shows that 77% of Rainbow consumers actively support Rainbow-friendly businesses, which is why everyone wins when a business advertises with Rainbow Pages.
Rainbow communities gain assurance that they are dealing with a business that respects and supports them and their diversity. In addition to connecting with the Rainbow market, the business also sends a powerful positive message about inclusiveness and embracing diversity to its own people, its customers, its suppliers and its own communities.
Rainbow Pages is the brain-child of James Bennett, a queer / gay man whose passion for giving back has seen him work and volunteer for many Rainbow community organisations in New Zealand and Australia.
The Rainbow Pages concept came about when James was chatting with a Rainbow community member who mentioned that they needed to use a tradesperson's services at home. Their Rainbow lifestyle choices were very obvious at their home and they told James that they wished there was an easy way of knowing which businesses were Rainbow-friendly so that they didn’t have to worry about how the tradesperson would react.
James had heard similar concerns from others in the community. He also experienced their desire for being able to quickly, easily – and safely – identify and buy from Rainbow-friendly businesses in New Zealand and beyond, which is how the Rainbow Pages idea came about.
Most members of the LGBTTQI+ community know what it is like to experience the challenges of feeling unsupported and discriminated against, and James and the Rainbow Pages team are no exception.
Even though Rainbow Pages needs to be profitable, we are so passionate about enabling Rainbow organisations to support their communities that every month we donate 10% of all our revenue to Rainbow charities. Over time we hope to increase this percentage in tandem with Rainbow Page’s expansion into the Australian market and beyond.
